Quavo has taken to Instagram in a lengthy heartfelt post, sharing the tributes he made about his nephew and former bandmate Takeoff during his public memorial.
Takeoff was shot and killed on November 1st 2022, and since then tributes for the former Migos member have flooded in.
Beginning with “Take”, Quavo writes of his nephew’s personality and humour as “by far the funniest person in the room” joking about his affliction with punctuality, “last but not Least he took time with everything. We called it the Takeoff Time.”
What comes across painfully so in his post is the loss of an uncle for his nephew. Quavo writes “This whole time I’ve been trying to figure what you really are to me because nephew wasn’t it…we were way close than that…Now I finally get it…you are OUR angel.”
Cardi B emanating the same sentiment also took to Instagram in a lengthy post to say she is “heartbroken”, but “grateful for all the precious memories we got to share.” She went on to confess the pain is “incomparable” and that his passing has “truly been a nightmare”. She finished her post praying for peace and a place in paradise for Takeoff, wishing him to “Rest in power.”

Cardi is just one amongst a tidal wave of condolences from those that include Outkast, Chance the Rapper, Rich The Kid, Wiz Khalifa and Chris Eubank.
The three-piece family group rose to fame in 2013 with their single ‘Versace', but had been making music since 2008.
Takeoff’s death is still under police investigation. With little witnesses, investigators are encouraging anyone with information who may have fled the scene to please come forward.
