“Josh has been given no choice but to prioritize his health and to receive essential medical care through the remainder of the year,” the band wrote.
Queens of the Stone Age have announced the cancellation of the rest of their 2024 tour dates in order to allow frontman Joshua Homme to continue his recovery after undergoing emergency surgery.
“Josh has been given no choice but to prioritize his health and to receive essential medical care through the remainder of the year,” the band wrote on X. “Josh and the QOTSA family are so thankful for your support and the time we were able to spend together over the last year. Hope to see you all again in 2025.”
All their festival dates have been cancelled, while their headline shows in several US cities have been postponed to 2025, with new dates to be confirmed down the line.
Festival ticket holders are advised to visit specific event sites for updated information. Ticket holders for QOTSA shows will be contacted by point of purchase with further information about the new dates. pic.twitter.com/jcUHtfPv5q

The announcement comes a month after the band had already cancelled all their July European tour dates.
“Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery,” they wrote at the time. “Every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue.”
Last year, the 51-year-old singer revealed that he had successfully undergone surgery for cancer that was diagnosed in 2022. However, the band have not disclosed the nature of his most recent intervention.
Queens of the Stone Age released their eighth album In Times New Roman… last July, marking their first release in six years. The band performed across North America, Australia and Asia earlier this year prior to the cancellation.
