The festival aims to showcase and celebrate Ireland’s up-and-coming artists in the LGBTQ+ community.
Queer Fest's first edition will be taking place at Whelan’s Upstairs on March 27 at 7.30pm, and will feature an exciting lineup of young and emerging queer Irish artists.
Tickets will be priced at €8 online and €10 at the door.
The inaugural festival will welcome a diverse range of musical genres and artistic performances, creating a safe space for celebration and visibility for queer artists.
First to take to the stage are Shallo- an alternative rock/metal duo hailing from Dublin, Ireland who are influenced by bands like Royal Blood, Set It Off, Nothing But Thieves and Cane Hill.
After that healthy dose of head banging and foot stomping, Queer Fest attendees will get to hear Dublin-based Romeo Keane. The musician creates uplifting dance-pop music that is designed for celebration – designed to unite everyone on the dance floor and get the crowd throwing shapes.

Continuing on the pop soundscape, Niall Blaise is the third act billed to take to the stage. The 80s pop/rock inspired musician's songs are known for having splashes of exuberant early 00s pop which is sure to get folks tripping the fantastic.
The final act for what promises to be an exciting night is Andromeda I, a solo project started by Italian/Filipino songwriter and producer John Ocasion which focuses on movement. Andromeda I is known for performing an genre bending mix of pop, synth-pop, and new wave.
After the jam packed show, Whelan’s Silent Disco will take place from 10:30pm with 2 DJs, (just pick the one you like best). The silent disco will incur a €5 cover charge and include a Late Bar.
