Frontman Michael Stipe has been open about his endorsement of Kamala Harris, performing at a recent campaign concert for the presidential candidate.
R.E.M have released a lyric video to their track ‘I Believe’ from their 1986 album Life’s Rich Pageant. The group have been very outspoken about the importance of voting in this election, releasing a series of songs in a digital compilation for National Voter Registration Day as part of their ‘We are Hope Despite the Times’ campaign.
The video draws inspiration from handmade designs frontman Stipe created during Fables and Reconstruction tour. The lyrics are displayed on a man's t-shirt, mimicking the politically themed t-shirts the frontman wore during the 1992 MTV VMAs acceptance speech when they won Video of the year with ‘Losing my Religion’.

“I believe the choices in this election could not be more stark or more important. Please vote and encourage everyone you know to do the same—that is how we win in 2024 and I believe we can do it!!!,"said Stipe in a statement.
