The series premieres on Netflix today, with the full soundtrack set to be released next week.
The highly anticipated new series 1899 lands on Netflix today – with Lankum's Radie Peat featuring on composer Ben Frost's accompanying soundtrack.
"I did a lot of sneaky recording while I was pregnant," the Dublin singer wrote on Instagram today. "4 projects in total. First to emerge in the real world is out today. And it’s a fucken SOUNDTRACK..."
Peat collaborated on the soundtrack with Frost, who previously created the score for all three seasons of Netflix's Dark, which came from the same creators as 1899. The Australian-born, Iceland-based composer and musician has also contributed music to the series Raised by Wolves and Fortitude, as well as films like Sleeping Beauty (2011) and Super Dark Times (2017)
"1899. A migrant steamship heads west to leave the old continent," the new series' official description reads. "The passengers, a mixed bag of European origins, united by their hopes and dreams for the new century and their future abroad. But their journey takes an unexpected turn when they discover another migrant ship adrift on open sea. What they will find on board, will turn their passage to the promised land into a horrifying nightmare."
The official soundtrack, 1899: Original Music From The Netflix Series, is set to be released next week, on November 24.
A snippet of the soundtrack featuring vocals from Peat was shared online last year.
