British acts made up five of the seven artists who were inducted.
Radiohead, Def Leppard and The Cure will join the Rock'N'Roll Hall of Fame in 2019, along with Roxy Music, Janet Jackson, Stevie Nicks and The Zombies.
The seven inductees are the biggest intake since 2004; bringing the total number of acts in the hall to 330.
Adopted Irishman Joe Elliot was initially hesitant about the idea of Def Leppard being featured in the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame, saying previously that the band would politely decline. However, he recently had a change of heart, telling Billboard that: "When I look at the list of who's in, it's just obvious you'd want to be in that club." (You can read his latest interview in the new Hot Press, out now.)
Radiohead were even more apathetic about the idea of being entered into the Hall of Fame, with guitarist Ed O'Brien telling Rolling Stone Magazine: "I don't want to be rude - but if you ask me what I'd rather be doing that night, I'd rather be sitting at home in front of the fire or going to a gig."
Stevie Nicks, meanwhile, was already a member of the Hall of Fame as part of Fleetwood Mac, meaning that she becomes the first woman to enter the Hall of Fame twice.

"To be recognised for my solo work makes me take a deep breath and smile," she said. "It's a glorious feeling."
Artists are eligible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after the release of their debut album.
Def Leppard, Roxy Music and Stevie Nicks were all accepted the first time their names appeared on the ballot.
Janet Jackson got in on her third attempt - despite being one of America's most successful female artists; and the only singer in US chart history to have three albums that each contain at least five top 10 hits.
