Thom Yorke, frontman of Radiohead and The Smile, has released the original score for the Italian film Confidenza
Thom Yorke's new film score for Daniele Luchetti’s movie Confidenza is set for release digitally on April 26, with vinyl and CD versions following on July 12. Premiering today is the music visual for the single 'Knife Edge', starring Elio Germano and Federica Rosellini, featuring a sequence from the film re-cut by editor Ael Dallier Vega, along with a b-side track titled 'Prize Giving'.
Yorke’s new score follows his soundtrack for Luca Guadagnino’s 2018 Suspiria remake, with Suspirium receiving a Grammy nomination for Best Song Written for Visual Media. Produced by Sam Petts-Davies (Suspiria, The Smile Wall Of Eyes), Confidenza sees Yorke working again with the London Contemporary Orchestra and a jazz ensemble including Robert Stillman and The Smile bandmate Tom Skinner. The Smile recently performed live at Dublin's 3Arena on 7 March 2024 following the release of their new album. For the album review, check out our article here.

Confidenza is an adaptation of Domenico Starnone’s 2019 novel of the same name, and is set to premiere at the International Film Festival in Rotterdam later this month. The film, produced by Indiana Production and Vision Distribution, stars Elio Germano, Vittoria Puccini, and Isabella Ferrari.
Alongside his film score work, Yorke has been busy touring with The Smile (Tom Skinner, Jonny Greenwood, Thom Yorke). The band released their second studio album, Wall Of Eyes, in January 2024, following their 2022 debut album A Light For Attracting Attention. The Smile will resume touring in June and August in Europe.
