Raidió na Life celebrating UNESCO World Radio Day
'Youth & Radio' is the theme of the day
The celebrations for UNESCO World Radio Day today include a special simultaneous broadcast between Raidió na Life and counterparts both north and south of the border.
For the first time ever, Raidió na Life, RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, Raidió Fáilte (Belfast) and Near FM (North-East Dublin) will join forces, as Rónán Mac Aodh Bhuí presents Rónán Beo@3 live from the Raidió Fáilte studios on the Falls Road in Belfast. Young people will be taking over the station during the day, and Raidió na Life's Lisa Madden and Joyce Ní Chionnaith will be there to keep listeners up to speed on the latest events in Belfast.
Later on, Raidió na Life will be marking the sparkling new improvements to their studio, Stiúideo Dearg, with a special launch, christening the brand new sound desk which came about through support from Foras na Gaeilge.
