For his 1974 release of Streets of London, folk singer McTell won an Ivor Novello Award. In 2002, he was presented with the prestigious Liftetime Achievement Award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
Ralph McTell, regarded as one of the greatest storytellers, announced his new album, From There to Here, to commemorate his 50th year in the music industry. Along with the announcement, the folk singer revealed the dates for his upcoming Ireland tour.
McTell's Ireland tour will kick off on October 26th at the Watergate Theatre in Kilkenny and continue with shows across the country until the tour concludes on November 11th at Dublin's Liberty Hall Theatre.
The singer recently shared a tour announcement video on YouTube, which shows the almost 80-year-old musician playing the piano.

The award winning musician is a lifelong friend of Ireland, its music, and its people. His new album, From There to Here, will therefore feature some of Ireland‘s finest artists and composers.
Referring to the upcoming record, Ralph McTell said: "Over my writing career, I have written and recorded a number of songs that reflect my affection for Ireland, and I wanted to celebrate that by inviting some of my Irish musician friends to take part in this special recording."

McTell's music weaves a narrative that is both significant and poignant, thanks to his unique songwriting and virtuoso guitar style. His debut album Eight Frames a Second, was released in 1968, and was followed by several album, single, and EP releases during the following 50 years.
