Giant of English folk music, Ralph McTell, who is now celebrating more than 50 years on the road, is set to go on a nationwide tour of Ireland this winter.

Known for his virtuoso guitar style, the prolific songwriter and 'The Streets of London' star, is set to play 13 dates in Ireland this October and November.

McTell has been a lifelong fan of Ireland, writing his song 'Mr. Connaughton' about what a profound effect his Irish neighbour and role model had on him growing up.

His 1976 ballad 'From Clare to Here', was inspired by his Irish coworkers while working on a building site in London. McTell said of the time: "There was an Irish gang on the site, and the craic, as they call it, relieved the stress of the hard work."

As part of celebrations for McTell's 80th birthday, McTell is recording a new album 'From There to Here' with collaborations from Irish artists promised.

McTell says of his love of Ireland, “Over my writing career I have written and recorded a number of songs that reflect my affection for Ireland, and I wanted to celebrate that by inviting some of my Irish musician friends to take part in this special recording.”

‘From There to Here’ will tour Ireland from the 26th of October to the 11^th of November 2023 offering a rare opportunity to see Ralph perform these songs in 13 cities and towns across Ireland.
