The noughties hit makers are on the comeback trail.
British indie rock luminaries Razorlight have confirmed their return to Ireland with a pair of live shows scheduled for early 2019. The returning band, who are back after a decade-long hiatus, will play Dublin’s Olympia Theatre on Tuesday, February 19 and Belfast’s Limelight on Wednesday, February 20.
The news fittingly began to seep out over the weekend when Johnny Borrell and co were in the country to promote their recently released fourth album in Olympus Sleeping. "Dublin feels really good at the moment. It feels like a really good vibe so I'm really looking forward to it," said frontman Borrell when speaking to Hot Press, before adding that he hopes it won't be long before Razorlight return to Irish shores again with festival season on the horizon soon after.
The two dates come in addition to the band's already sold-out UK tour in support of the album that is set to kick off in December.
"We played one live show just recently with the new songs and I’m just so excited," added Johnny. "From my perspective, anytime I’ve played with Razorlight in the last 10 years has been just taking songs from 3 albums and now there’s a whole extra quarter of material to bring in, and I think these songs stand up with the back catalogue and I can’t wait. I’m looking forward to the chaos and just being able to play real music."

Olympus Sleeping has marked a nostalgic return to form for the group, who aside from Borrell are made up of an entirely new membership since their last effort in 2008's Slipway Fires. The changed line-up hasn't altered the finished product however, with the record recapturing the indie sound that so defined the era in which the band initially operated.
Tickets go on sale from Ticketmaster this Friday (November 16th). You can check out Razorlight performing 'Carry Yourself' from their appearance on Saturday's edition of The Ray D'Arcy Show below:
