Who knows where the time goes? It has been that kind of year at HP central, with a load of new projects and developments getting up and running – and some on the way that will be announced shortly.

In addition to our return to the world of mainstream book publishing with Paul Charles’ acclaimed Adventures In Wonderland; our launch of the Nothing Compares Brigid’s Day initiative, among a range of events we’ve curated; Irish Music Month 2023; our activity at Electric Picnic 2023 as well at a host of other live shows over the summer; the release of the ‘Come On Ireland’ single; and our involvement in the creation of Uprising for television (more on this soon), we also – most recently – had the honour of creating a special issue dedicated to Sinéad O’Connor. An additional publication, turned around very quickly, it has generated an amazing and thoroughly heart-warming response. We've also been planning the return of our Y&E Series which will take place over 40 nights in October and November

With all that going on, one thing did get somewhat sidelined. There was a hugely increased response to the Hot Press Readers’ Poll back in February and March. Between the jigs and the reels, and with everything else that was happening, we underestimated the sheer volume of work involved in getting the final results tabulated. So apologies to all who voted – the bad news is that we’re late; the good news is that the results are now available! Even better, we now have the systems in place to guarantee that the 2024 poll will run like clockwork, when the time comes. Watch this space...
