The Little Light by Red Hot Chili Pepper bassist Flea will include discussions about music career influences and memories. The 15-part series will launch next month.
Flea, the bassist of American rock band the Red Hot Chili Pepper, is undertaking a new endeavour: a podcast.
The first episode will be released on March 30th, a day after the Red Hot Chili Peppers play BC Place Stadium in Vancouver at the start of their world tour. The tour is for their 12th and 13th albums Unlimited Love and Return of the Dream Canteen, both released in 2022.
The band has been making music for almost forty years. On The Little Light, Flea will be retroactively examining that music-making journey. He, and guest stars, will explore other memories as well along the way.
Already confirmed to make an appearance over the 15-part series are music producer Rick Rubin, English actress and singer-songwriter Cynthia Erivo, bassist Thundercat, singer-songwriter Patti Smith, and singer-songwriter Margo Price.
The podcast will feature discussions about the impact of early influences, teachers, and experiences have on both an artists' creativity and their careers.

Flea founded a non-profit music school in 2001, Silverlake Conservatory of Music. A portion of the proceeds from The Little Light will benefit the project.
In a statement to the Rolling Stone, Flea elaborated on the decision to start The Little Light.
“The idea behind it being music education, falling in love with music and embarking on a musical journey for your life. Everybody’s path is so different, and it’s fascinating to learn how every musician came to music and developed their study of it over time.”
The Red Hot Chili Peppers will begin touring in the EU and Uk on Sunday, June 18th with a show in the Netherlands. They will have two shows in the UK, one in London on Friday, July 21st and one in Glasgow, on Sunday July 23rd.
There is currently no Ireland show.
