Glastonbury based rock band Reef have announced the details of their first album in 18 years, which they recorded in Ireland. Revelation is due to be released on CD, LP, download and stream on May 4. Also on the cards is a gig in Dublin’s Academy Green Room on May 31.
The album has been produced by George Drakoulias (Primal Scream, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers) and features a guest vocal on lead single ‘My Sweet Love’ by Sheryl Crow.
Reef’s career started way back in 1993 and in the following years, the band supported Paul Weller, The Rolling Stones and Soundgarden among others. They’ve racked up nine UK Top 40 singles, ‘Place your Hands’ being the most widely known, coming off their second album Glow, which was certified platinum.
Reef disbanded in 2003 before reuniting in 2010 for a sold out tour. Original Reef guitarist Kenwyn House left the band on good terms in 2014 and was replaced by Jesse Wood, formerly of the Ronnie Wood band.
In 2016, Reef tested the water with their first single since 2003, ‘How I Got Over’ which they performed on Chris Evan’s radio show. The success of this single led to Reef being invited by Coldplay’s Chris Martin to support them at Wembley stadium.

The recently announced tour will see them play over 20 shows in the UK, and a solitary show in Ireland. Tickets for Reef’s gig at the Academy are €25 and are available on ticketmaster.ie and Ticketmaster outlets.
