The film will detail the plastic doll's origins and the journey that has followed
The beautiful and blonde Reese Witherspoon is reported to be producing a movie about her plastic doppleganger, Barbie.
Witherspoon will be creating the film alongside Bruna Papandrea about the timeline of Barbie, including information about her origins.
The movie will be based off of the popular biographical novel, Barbie and Ruth: The Story of the World's Most Famous Doll and the Woman Who Created Her. The book focuses on the iconic doll's original creator, Ruth Handler, who was motivated to construct a doll for her daughter Barbara. Dolls at the time were generally made out of paper, which made it difficult to dress the figurines in minature clothing garments. Consequently, Handler began to develop a moe three-dimensional doll for her daughter to be able to play with.
Handler created a toy from abroad, which her husband's company, Mattel, subsequently manufactured. The infamous Barbie product was then releaesd in 1959.
Further details are yet to be released regarding the upcoming flm, but we can only look forward to see what is in store
