With an emphasis on the hipper pop songwriters of the day, selections here include Jimmy Webb’s ballad ‘Didn’t We’, recorded in 1970 for unreleased album project The Singer and a poignant version of Randy Newman’s ‘I Think It’s Going Rain Today’ – complete with Newman himself on piano. Other highlights include the standard ‘Willow Weep For Me’, an unreleased studio version of ‘With One More Look At You’ from the soundtrack of her hit movie A Star Is Born and a version of ‘Home’ (from The Wiz), all performed to perfection by Streisand.
