"People will be really, really impressed with the vocals, especially the lyrics, they're really from Dolores' heart," says Noel Hogan.
As the rock 'n' roll world remembers Dolores O'Riordan on the first anniversary of her death, The Cranberries have made the album they were working on at the time, In The End, available for pre-order. There are five different versions ranging from the straightforward CD to a Deluxe CD + Vinyl + Artwork Print + Lyric Book package for €33.99. The full track-listing is 'Summer Song', 'A Place I Know', 'All Over Now', 'Got It', 'Wake Me When It's Over', 'Lost', 'The Pressure', 'Illusion', 'Catch Me If You Can' and 'In The End'. The date we're hearing for its release is April 26 but that's yet to be officially confirmed.
The first taster, 'All Over Now', receives its Irish premiere at 1.30pm on RTÉ 2fm's Tracy Clifford Show.
RTÉ 2fm’s day of Dolores memories includes Nicky Byrne and Jenny Greene’s airing of two of the songs, ‘Zombie’ and ‘Animal Instinct’, the Cranberries performed live in September 2002 when they dropped in on Gerry Ryan. There will also be excerpts from the accompanying interview in which Dolores talked about combining musical and family life.
"This one 'Chocolate Brown' is a song that I wrote and recorded while I was pregnant with Molly who is now one-and-a-half,” she revealed, “but it was kind of about when my little boy wanted me to go out and play with him but I couldn't and I felt really guilty because I tour a lot and I travel a lot and then I was at home for a long period, as in months. Then, ironically enough. I couldn't really go and play with him because I was pregnant so I felt really bad... that parental guilt."
You don't have to wait until then, though, with the entire session streaming below.
Earlier today, Limerick's Live 95FM paid tribute to Dolores with a round table discussion that included Hot Press Assistant Editor Stuart Clark, RTÉ's Will Leahy and Emma Langford, the local musician who performed a spine tingling version of 'When You're Gone'. During the summer, Emma organised the I Heart The Cranberries tribute gig in Dolan's that attracted fans from all over the world. A highlights video of that has been posted today on the Limerick Lady Facebook - scroll down for details.
Also below you'll find a video of Noel, Mike and Ferg's appearance on ITV News.
"You've got really good memories but then it's kind of a bit of disbelief as well," Noel says in it. "You keep kind of expecting her to call or email, you know, as I guess many people who have lost anyone would expect. We're just excited for it to be out there and for people to hear it because we've lived with it for so long under secrecy. People will be really, really impressed with the vocals, especially the lyrics, they're really from Dolores' heart.
"She left such a massive collection of songs, such huge iconic songs," he adds. "For anybody to leave even one is a great thing but to have the collection, you know, and it's great to see that people have focused on her music after her death."
