Here's a suspect device: 3 Colours Red consider themselves a political and polemical band yet they only sound convincing on the (trite) love songs on Revolt.

You know the 3 Colours Red sound - All Rage Against The Machine-ish and full of heavy bass bombast. They couldn't nail a quiet moment in a tune if their lives depended upon it.

They also do not appear to have even a passing acquaintance with the language they choose to write their lyrics in. There's many a crime committed against English here. My favourite howler is from 'Beautiful Day' - "The dream is a fallacy come true." Come again? Meaningless is too kind a word for this kind of inanity.

On the other hand, those who like Neanderthal politics in their music should enjoy tunes such as 'Paralyse' - about only remembering the lies society has told you - and 'Intermission', a thumping melody that screams about how no one cares.

3 Colours Red have loads of energy and (I think) well-placed idealism. Their politics are on the right side but that's a bit like saying dogs are always loyal to their masters.

Unfortunately, from an aesthetic point of view, Revolt is, well, revolting.
