His first time on the Irish TV institution tomorrow.
Fans of Sheffield crooners that didn't secure tickets to Richard Hawley's sold-out Vicar Street show this Friday night would do well to stay parked in front of the telly to catch his debut performance on The Late Late Show.
The former Pulp man and songwriter lauded by the likes of Alex Turner will perform 'Heart Of Oak'.
The track, inspired by his friendship with folk singer Norma Waterson, is taken from his eight studio album Hollow Meadows. The record also features some notable guests from the UK folk scene; Hawley’s neighbour and friend Martin Simpson, who plays slide guitar and banjo on ‘Long Time Down’, and Nancy Kerr, who plays fiddle and viola on ‘The World Looks Down’, ‘I Still Want You’ and ‘Nothing Like A Friend’.
As for that performance, well, we have a fairly decent idea how it will go from a recent Jools Holland spot...
