The enigmatic rapper played five songs in her set with a mix of new and old bangers.
Rico Nasty performed her new single ‘Magic’ as part of her set for NPR’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert on September 3rd.
The rapper opened her set with ‘Magic’ and followed it up with breakthrough hit ‘Smack A Bitch', as well as ‘Rage,’ ‘Trust Issues’ and ‘OHFR.’ Nasty’s latest single is set to feature on her upcoming mixtape Rx which also includes last month’s banger ‘Buss'.
Rx was slated to arrive this summer via Atlantic but it hasn’t materialised yet. The mixtape follows up the 24-year old’s debut album Nightmare Vacation which dropped last December.
The rapper played the concert with an all-female band and commented on it midway through the show - “I like having a band,” she said halfway through her set. “Especially when it's all girls.”
In a description of the songwriter’s set NPR said:

“As an artist known to mash up the genres of rap, rock and pop — and create a safe space for women to do the same — Rico has rarely gotten the chance to put this full artistic collision on display. For her Tiny Desk debut, Rico takes every opportunity to flex her rage and range.”
Nasty closed with ‘Smack A Bitch’ and the American artist enjoyed the high energy of the track. “I don't know where you at, where you watching this,” she said. “You better break some s***.”
2021 has been a busy year for Rico Nasty as she featured on a number of projects including Kali Uchis’ ‘Aquí Yo Mando.’ She also teamed up with Charli XCX and Kero Kero Bonito on 100 Gecs’ ‘Ringtone’ remix. In March she collaborated with Mahalia for her song ‘Jealous.’
