Kamala's final “mega-rally” featured performances from artists such as Jon Bon Jovi and Ricky Martin.
American musicians have taken to their platforms urging citizens to vote in today's historical presidential elections. Following an industry-wide drought of backing for President Biden prior to his drop out, many musicians have expressed their endorsement for his vice-president Kamala Harris.
Rihanna took to social media to encourage her followers to vote, joking that she’ll “sneak into the polls with her son’s passport” with the hashtag “vote cause I can't”, shared to the Barbados-born singer's Instagram. Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger also used his platform to urge people to vote and told his followers that “Jagger kids are voting for Kamala."
Superstars such as Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera and Katy Perry have all shown their support for the democratic nominee in various pre-election rallies around the United States in the run up to the elections. Kamala's final “mega-rally” featured performances from artists such as Jon Bon Jovi, Ricky Martin and Katy Perry. The rally was set up across various venues with live streams of each performance shown in individual states, along with an introduction by Oprah Winfrey.
From Bon Iver to Billie Eilish, musicians have been highly vocal in urging citizens to vote, with the majority supporting the blues in recent weeks.
The usual suspects have continued their endorsement for former president Donald Trump with Elon Musk, Jake Paul, Kid Rock, Hulk Hogan, Caitlyn Jenner, Mel Gibson and Kanye West supporting the candidate.
