The folk troubador plays Whelans in November.
River Matthews has surfaced with a sound recalling the singer-songwriters of yesterday at their most emotionally direct and open.
The instrumentation and Matthews’ fine voice weave a web of comfort and grace that warms the heart.
Matthews plays his first Irish date in Whelans, Dublin on November 17. Tickets go on sale on July 26 at 9 a.m through Ticketmaster and usual outlets.
The former musical therapy worker recently released his debut EP Feels Like Morning, an effort inviting comparisons to Cat Stevens and Van Morrison.

His musical journey began in earnest after relationship troubles gave him a rich vein of material to tap into. After meeting prominent producer Jamie Scott, who has worked with Michael Kiwanuka, Jessi Ware and Ron Sexsmith among others, he was able to put his ideas into action.
