Derry’s own legendary blues and soul musician, Rob Strong, has announced a very special homecoming gig at The Cosh Bar, Derry City, this Saturday 2 September.
After three sell-out shows in Dublin’s Arthur’s Blues n’ Jazz Club, ‘The Godfather of Soul’ brings his band to the place where it all began.

Strong started out as a showband musician when he first joined The Polka Dots and later fronted the iconic Plattermen from Omagh in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s.
Throughout his established career, Strong has performed with Johnny Logan in The Giants as well as The Las Vegas Showband, The Rockets and The Commitments band.

Following his homecoming show in Derry, Strong is set play in Longford’s Backstage Theatre, Kavannagh’s in Stoneybatter, Dublin as well as the Ballycotton Sea Church in Cork over the coming months.

In 2021 the singer celebrated the release of his biography Still Going Strong-documenting his amazing musical journey across six decades in Ireland- with a memorable gig in The Workman’s Club in Dublin.
That same year, Rob Strong released the album Stronger Together alongside Peter Brander.
