The Six Nations, Leinster and the Lions are all discussed in a major interview...
With our opening Six Nations visit to Murrayfield just days away, Hot Press joins star man Robbie Henshaw on the sofa for an in-depth chat about Ireland’s championship prospects.
“The attitude we have is that, ‘If we can beat the All Blacks, we can beat England,’” Robbie says of what may well be the Six Nations decider at the Aviva on March 18. “That’s the one everybody’s talking about, but our focus is on the game against Scotland, which is going to be very, very tough. I know from playing Glasgow Warriors in the Pro12 that quite a few of the Scottish guys are on fire at the moment.”
As are Robbie’s teammates Joey Carberry, Ross Molony, Garry Ringrose, Rory O’Loughlin and Adam Byrne whose respective talents are all assessed.
Add in England’s ability to grind out results, the powder-keg atmosphere at the Millennium, making history against the All Blacks, kamikaze tackling, Leinster, the Lions, 2023’s World Cup bid and living a life of domestic bliss with Jordi Murphy, and it’s a sporting must-read!
The rugby action doesn’t end there with one of its likely stars, Sene Naopu, looking forward to Ireland’s hosting of this summer’s Women’s World’s Cup.
Also in the new Hot Press, best-selling author John Boyne talks about life and love as a gay man; Olaf goes arm-wrestling with Elbow's Guy Garvey; Stuart Clark reports on Ireland’s first Medically Supervised Injecting Centre, and the killer synthetic drug that’s ten times stronger than heroin; we meet the new slicing ‘n’ dicing King of Nordic Noir, Stefan Ahnhem, and deliver the verdicts on T2 Trainspotting and the Oscar-nominated Loving.
And that’s just for starters! The new issue of Hot Press, with Robbie Henshaw on the cover, is out now.
