A UK legend returns to Dublin
English singer-songwriter and music legend Robyn Hitchcock is set to take the stage at Whelan's again. He will play the famous Dublin venue on January 28, 2020.
Tickets for the show cost €15.00 and are on sale at 9am on Friday, November 8 from www.selectivememory.ie.
Robyn Hitchcock is one of England's most enduring contemporary singer-songwriters and live performers. A surrealist poet, talented guitarist, cult artist and musician's musician, Hitchcock is among alternative rock's father figures and is the closest thing the genre has to a Bob Dylan (not coincidentally his biggest musical inspiration).

Blending folk and psychedelia with a wry British nihilism, The Soft Boys founder describes his songs as "paintings you can listen to". His latest album, which came out in 2017, is self-titled and marked his 21st release as a solo artist. Hitchcock describes it as a "ecstatic work of negativity with nary a dreary groove."
Next year sees the cult art rocker's return to Whelan's, where he played multiple gigs throughout his long career. Who knows? Maybe his show will attract a celeb-packed audience again, just like back in 2007.
