Dublin gets another musical landmark on November 26 when the Rockarchive gallery opens in Temple Bar.

Set up in 1998, the original Rockarchive in London is the brainchild of Jill Furmanovsky whose legendary subjects include Miles Davis, Chic, B.B. King, Bob Marley, The Clash, Blondie, The Ramones and Oasis who were immortalised in her Was There Then book.

Explaining how she became a rock 'n' roll snapper, she explains: "I was standing in the balcony of the Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park at a Yes gig. Far below I could see the press photographers right next to the stage and I thought 'that looks good' and by the end of the concert I'd taken a whole roll of film and started a career."

Also exhibiting and selling prints at the Temple Lane South gallery are Gered Mankowitz, Storm Thorgerson, Kate Simon, Barrie Wentzell, Matt Anker, Mick Rock and Fernando Aceves.
