18-year-old singer-songwriter Roe Byrne has a busy upcoming year of gigging and releasing ahead, following a period of planning throughout his Leaving Cert year.
He's now set to play his first-ever headline show on Saturday, 14th January in city centre venue The Sound House.
The Dublin native is a prolific songwriter, and has drawn upon influences such as Dermot Kennedy, Hozier, and Novo Amor, hoping that one day his music will have the same reach and impact as the Sombre singer.
Whilst busking, Byrne has racked up an 11,000 Instagram following, with Facebook video views having reached upward of the one million mark.
Speaking on his journey so far, Byrne says, "The guys in my band are people I’ve known throughout my whole music career. Chris on drums, and Daniel in bass, used to be in a band with myself and a couple others in a music school called Mezz. That’s really where I found my love for performing and got my first couple of public performances.”
“Conor Marcus is my best mate in the world and I’m honoured that he’s playing for me, especially when a few of the songs I’ll be singing on the night were written with him. I’m absolutely buzzing to be getting back in front of a crowd of people with these lads, they smash it every time,” he continued.
