The Association of Independent Music Awards saw the Wicklow-born singer-songwriter and record producer pick up the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award at last night's ceremony. Previous winners of this award include Skepta, Richie Hawtin, Billy Bragg, Edwin Collins and Bjork.
One part of the electronic duo, Moloko, Roisin Murphy's career has been marked by consistent reinvention. Releasing her debut album Ruby Blue in 2005 to critical acclaim, Murphy's genre-bending creativity has seen her meddle with everything from European house, Grace Jones-esque electronic soul, and even, back in 2014, giving us an EP full of covers sung in Italian. With a style as eclectic as her music, Murphy has become something of an icon over the span of her career. Her newest album, Take Her Up To Monto was released back in July.
Other winners from the AIM Awards include Adele, who bagged the track of the year for 'Hello', and Stormzy, who won the award for Innovative Artist. You can see the full list of winners here.
