To coincide with the release of her debut album, Donegal singer-songwriter Rosie Carney will play at the Ballroom at The Grand Social on 3 January 2019.
Ticket €13.00 inclusive of booking fee charges, available now from Ticketmaster.ie and outlets Nationwide.
At just 20, Rosie has spent close to half of her life in the music industry, developing a debut body of work to be unveiled across the next year.
She left school in rural Ireland at just 13 to showcase in New York and Los Angeles and was signed to a major before she was old enough to drive.
Her later teen years were absorbed by twin struggles of asserting herself creatively in a larger system – ultimately leaving it all together - while facing her own challenges with mental health.

Throughout her youthful evolution, the one constant has been her songs, which play a dual role of being both cathartic and empowering, “Songs that feel lived-in and worn, conveying a bruised ache well beyond her years,” hailed NPR
Back inn 2017, the Donegal singer/songwriter's confessional new song at the time, entitled 'Awake Me', lifted the lid on issues like depression.
At just 19, Rosie Carney has already experienced more of the tumult of life than most at her age. A post on her website, where she bravely confessed her experiences of depression and sexual assault, are a testament to this.
Through her raw poetic talent, her experience is channelled into her beautiful music and singing which, at times, recalls the vivid and imaginative folk ambience of Joni Mitchell.

Speaking about the song on Twitter, Rosie writes: "My song ‘Thousand’ feat. @LisaHannigan is out in the world today. It’s the first single from (can’t believe I finally get to say this) my debut album ‘Bare’ coming January 25th. So much love to Lisa for singing on Thousand. Happy listening."
The 20-year-old mental health activist is signed with Akira Records (home to Haux, Phoria, Henry Jamison, etc).
Last year saw the release of three singles; 'Awake Me', 'Your Moon' and 'Winter', each of garnering considerable critical praise.
NPR described her work as songs that "feel lived-in and worn, conveying a bruised ache well beyond her years" and Ladygunn magazine said her voice has “Bon Iver-esque tenderness, Laura Marling-like strength, and the haunting awareness of both".

When I first wrote the song I couldn’t figure out what to name it. So in the studio we would just call it the @ZooeyDeschanel song because it sounded like a rainy-day romance, like something out of 500 Days of Summer. Now it’s just Zoey. Happy listening.https://t.co/eWsMfivDI8
