The event itself takes place at the National Concert Hall Concert Film.
RTÉ 1 have just announced that on Easter Sunday, they will be live broadcasting filmmaker Philip King's new concert film, 'The Gloaming' directly from the National Concert Hall on the final night of their 2018 residency.
The broadcast will go out on April 1st at 23:05.
Regarding the performance itself, Philip King has stated that "Given the power of The Gloaming’s live performances and the unique relationship between the band and their audience, I’ve long wanted to find a way to capture the energy and beauty on film. I’m delighted to say that we’ve done just that. We were able to take a photograph of this incredible band at a unique moment in time. The Gloaming: Live at the National Concert Hall is something very special.”

The Gloaming itself is composed of five master musicians who amplify and enhance Irish traditional music with hues of jazz, classical and experimental music. Featuring fiddlers Martin Hayes and Caoimhin Ó Raghallaigh and sean-nós singer Iarla Ó Lionáird, they are joined by New York pianist Thomas Bartlett (Doveman), and Chicago-born guitarist Dennis Cahill.
The group's most recent LP is titled 'Live at the NCH' and showcases highlights from the twenty-four sold out shows at the National Concert Hall itself.
