The RTÉ Choice Music Prize live event will be held at Vicar Street, Dublin on Thursday, March 9 – and celebrated in an exclusive live broadcast on RTÉ 2FM, alongside a televised special on RTÉ Two later that month.
CMAT, Selló, Fontaines D.C., Dermot Kennedy and Talos have made the RTÉ Choice Music Prize shortlist for Irish Artist of the Year.
2022 marked a huge year for all artists, with Kennedy releasing his No.1 second album Sonder, Selló finally unveiling his incredible debut album Sellótape, Talos dropping his third album Dear Chaos, CMAT sharing her Irish No.1 debut album If My Wife New I'd Be Dead and Fontaines D.C. releasing their third long-player Skinty Fia, which also nabbed No.1 slots.
The announcement was made by Tracy Clifford on her RTÉ 2FM radio show from 12pm today.

Yesterday, the Irish Album of the Year nominees were revealed, featuring CMAT's If My Wife New I'd Be Dead, Fontaines D.C.'s Skinty Fia, Aoife Nessa Frances' Protector, Just Mustard's Heart Under, Dermot Kennedy's Sonder, The Mary Wallopers' The Mary Wallopers, Anna Mieke's Theatre, Pillow Queens' Leave The Light On, Sorcha Richardson's Smiling Like An Idiot, and Thumper's Delusions of Grandeur.
The Irish Song of the Year 2022 shortlist is set to be unveiled on Friday, January 13. New categories will be introduced this year, including Irish Artist of the Year, Irish Breakthrough Artist, and Classic Irish Album.
