The orchestra will be led by acclaimed conductor Gavin Moloney. Tickets go on sale Friday, 19 April.
The RTÉ Concert Orchestra will take to the stage at Dublin's 3Arena and celebrate the songs of Leonard Cohen with a special 90th Birthday Concert on 21 September, 2024.
Previous shows include a debut concert in front of 30,000 people at All Together Now in 2019, and a sold-out gig at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in April 2022, an event which was described by Hot Press as a “magical and profoundly moving performance.”
The legendary Canadian songwriter treated Ireland to a dozen performances between 2008 and 2013, six of which were held at the 3Arena. His last shows in the capital unfolded across 11 and 12 September, 2013 – the latter of which was recorded and subsequently released as the Live In Dublin triple album, one of the songsmith’s last releases before his death in November 2016.
