Love/Hate's Lynn Rafferty is starring in the contemporary crime series, Taken Down, which is shooting in Dublin.
RTÉ and Spiral Pictures have commenced shooting in Dublin of Taken Down, a new crime series that best-selling novelist Jo Spain has developed with an international audience in mind.
The action focuses on Lynn Rafferty’s character Detective Jen Rooney whose investigation into how a young Nigerian migrant ended dead outside a Direct Provision Centre plunges her into a twilight world of slum landlords and ruthless criminal gangs preying on the New Irish.
Rafferty is probably best known for playing Nadine in Love/Hate and has subsequently appeared in Ripper Street and Rebellion.
“The story of Taken Down brings us into a world where opportunism meets the forces of Irish and globalised crime, and is very much of the moment,” reflects RTÉ Head of Drama, Jane Gogan.
With a cast that also includes Aissa Maiga, Brian Gleeson, Barry Ward and Enoch Frost of James Bond Skyfall renown, it’s an ambitious project that’ll wrap in August and probably hit screens in early 2019…
