RTÉ has cleaned up at the New York Festivals after a massive 26 nominations, leaving the festival with 13 medals in the radio field, including five golds.

The big winner was Documentary on One, itself winning three of the golds, followed by programmes Herosongs and the Dublin Lockout, which won a gold medal each. The total pull was five gold, seven silver and one bronze award for RTÉ from programs over its Radio 1 and Lyric FM format. The network is no stranger to success at the New York Festivals, itself once receiving the prestigious Radio Broadcaster of the Year Award.
