The new Irish Radio show will air every Wednesday starting April 24
Starting this Wednesday from 7 PM to 8 PM, RTÉ2XM will air AMPLIFY, a new radio show hosted by alternative metal musician Ailsha.
Hosted on RTÉ2XM, a digital radio service of RTÉ and a sister service to RTÉ2FM broadly dedicated to alternative and independent music, AMPLIFY aims to put forward Irish and international alternative artists through interviews and playlists and to give a platform to musicians from metal to pop-punk and hardcore.

Seeing a rapid rise to fame these past few years, Ailsha is an alternative metal artist whose sound is heavily influenced by Japanese electronic metal with elements of cyberpunk. She was the second act shortlisted for Irish EuroSong, although Bambie Thug ended up being chosen to represent Ireland in the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest.
In an interview for Hot Press last year, she spoke about the sart of her career as an alternative artist, which led to this opportunity to host her first ever radio show: “I initially started producing pop songs because I felt people would like them more," she said.
"But then at the end of last year, I literally locked myself away and started writing rock songs, You have to go for it.”
