There’s a lot going on among Ireland’s thriving talent pool of electronic music producers and labels. With new projects on the way from Matador, Hybrasil, Plutonic Dust, Psychonavigation, Phraktal and Michael Lovatt, April promises to be a busy month.
Gavin Lynch, aka Matador, has announced the release of his debut album Ructions on his newly launched Rukus imprint. As a live performer, Matador has made his mark on the global techno circuit. His exceptional releases with Richie Hawtin’s M-nus imprint and remixes for the likes of Depeche Mode, Moby and Disclosure have set him apart: he is one of the world’s finest producers.
Ructions has been well over a year in the making, with Lynch adding a Rupert Neve Console to his already impressive analogue studio along the way. Matador’s growth as an artist is evident over the course of this 13 track LP, which is released on April 25. His album tour has already kicked off and will see him perform at Movement, Awakenings, Tomorrowland, DC10 and Elrow...

A follow-up EP will be rolled out by Bush Records – a prominent techno label since the 90’s responsible for releases by Carl Cox and Dave Clarke’s Red Series.
Grand Delusions, the debut album by Plutonic Dust, is already available on CD and digital download. Produced by James Darkin, it was launched at the Sugar Club in Dublin. Plutonic Dust are one of Ireland’s most prominent nu-disco/house acts and have set the festival scene here alight. Their fusion of heart-hitting synth melodies, sensual vocals and disco guitar underscored with punk/funk basslines and lo-fi analogue beats, has helped them establish a loyal following...
