Runaways
Funny how Brandon Flowers always sounds like Brandon Flowers, whether faking a British accent (2004 - 2009), embracing his subtle Nevada lilt (2010 - 2011) or adopting a baffling Tennessee drawl (2012 - present). ‘Runaways’ picks up where the 31-year-old’s solo album Flamingo left off; a steamy, sweaty slab of '80s-influenced cock rock, all charging riffs and epic lyrics. In all fairness, Flowers’ yelp of ‘We can’t wait ‘til tomorrow…’ will sound positively titanic flooding out into some thick festival air.
