Russian Circles return to Ireland for their first live shows in the country since 2017, performing behind their new release 'Guidance'
Instrumental math-rock trio Russian Circles are back, having announced their first show in Dublin since selling out Whelan’s in March 2017. This time, the Chicago based band come supporting their sixth album, Guidance, which sees them honing in on the precise, noisy, and intricate sound they’ve created over the past 15 years.
15 years is a long time for any band to be touring, let alone a band with such an eccentric sound. They have, however, always avoided letting that eccentricity devolve into bland esotericism, making them as thrilling now, this late in their career, as they were in 2004 when they first started playing live shows. With Guidance the band takes steps forward musically, incorporating elements of hardcore, Americana, and world music into their already crowded sonic palette, and expanding the scope of the rock genre.
They perform at The Button Factory on August 8th, you can find tickets for that here, and stream their new album below.
