Irish singer and songwriter RuthAnne charts at number nine for this week’s Official Irish Homegrown list after ‘The Vow’ was played during the final scenes of the Love Island finale.
Earlier this week, Hot Press’s Selina Juengling reported that ‘The Vow’ reached the number one spot on iTunes in Ireland, top 40 in the UK, and was searched on Shazam over 12,000 times. Today we learned that it has reached the Official Irish charts as well.
The song was played in its entirety on the season finale of Love Island and subsequently blew up.

Mostly know as a songwriter up until now – RuthAnne has a writing credit for Niall Horan’s ‘Slow Hands’ – The Vow marks a new breakout as a solo artist.
RuthAnne plugged her upcoming set at Indiependence Festival in Cork this weekend where she’ll surely be celebrating this big feat. She also has an upcoming album which was produced by Fraser T Smith (Adele, Stormzy), Malay (Lorde, Frank Ocean), Future Cut (Little Mix), and Sonny J Mason (The Wanted).

“The main thing connecting all of this is lyrical honesty,” RuthAnne said in a statement about her forthcoming work. “I want songs you can move to but songs you can cry to, as well.”
