Ryan McMullan releases new single in anticipation of upcoming record.
Up-and-coming artist Ryan McMullan released his new single "In The Back of My Mind" today.
The song is a heart-sore reflection of young love and the loss of it, the gentle guitar, piano and percussion is a perfect blend with McMullan's warm and soft vocals.
The subject matter is relatable to all as McMullan peotically recites elements of a young relationship, including being too embarrassed to hold hands and scorned individuals burning the belongings of their lost loves.
"In the Back of my Mind is an old song written years ago, once forgiven but never forgotten," says the Portaferry singer. "It is both reminiscent and adolescent, but with a desire for maturity. Letting go of something that was never strong enough to hold on to in the first place, whilst trying to remember exactly that, through readjustment. For me it was a comfort and hopefully it can be for others.”

McMullan came into the fray with successful singles "You Don’t Dance”, “Oh Susannah” and his most popular, “Bowie on the Radio" which has reached 8 million streams. Returning from a five week US tour as Snow Patrol's supporting act, he's announced a number of tour dates for the summer months across Ireland and the UK, including his Glastonbury festival debut.
McMullan's live EP was released earlier this month on May 3, however he is currently working on a studio album that's release date is to be announced. Big names such as Foy Vance and Ed Sheeran are rumoured to be collaborators on the record.
