Sabrina Carpenter's 'Please Please Please' debuts at No.1 on Irish Singles chart
The pop artist's latest single appears on her upcoming album Short n' Sweet.
American singer Sabrina Carpenter's latest single, 'Please Please Please', has reached number one on the Official Irish Singles chart.
The song was released last week on June 6 and follows her popular track 'Espresso', which is also included in the upcoming LP – and currently sits at No.2 in the Irish Singles chart.
The pop ballad, which features elements of disco, country, and yacht rock, was released through Island Records and produced by the critically acclaimed Jack Antonoff.
The music video for 'Please Please Please' stars Irish actor Barry Keoghan, who the musician is currently dating. They made their first public appearance together at the Met Gala at the beginning of last month.
Lyrically, 'Please, Please Please' – which has its tongue firmly in its cheek – instructs an 'actor' not to blunder and blemish either her make-up or her reputation! "I heard that you're an actor," Carpenter sings, "So act like a stand-up guy/ Whatever devil's inside you/ Don't let him out tonight." The track currently sits at No.4 in Australia and No.3 in New Zealand.
Carpenter's upcoming album Short n' Sweet is set for release on August 23 this year.
