Dimple Discs have announced that the Irish band, who have released globally acclaimed albums and toured internationally with Morrissey, have signed to their label.
Much beloved Dublin-based five-piece Sack have announced that they have signed to Dimple Discs Records, and will release their first single at the label on August 20th.
‘What A Way To Live’ will be followed in the near future by a new LP and reissues of their back catalogue on vinyl and CD, which will begin hitting record stores from February 2022.
"'What A way To Live’ is a song about people’s narcissism and selfishness in times that require the opposite," says guitarist John Brereton. "Some people are putting their lives on the line for others while others moan that they can’t have a fry up in Santa Ponsa."
The label first came across the group in the flesh supporting Sean O’Hagan (of High Llamas and Microdisney fame) at the Grand Social, Dublin.

There will also be a return to the live stage for the group, with a handful of shows to promote the single release, beginning with a limited capacity show at Mike The Pie’s in Listowel on Friday, August 13th, followed by a slot at The Grand Social, Dublin as part of the Dublin Quays Festival on Friday, August 27th. The band will close out the year with a headline show at The Grand Social, Dublin on Thursday, December 23rd.
Fans attending these live shows can expect to hear the band debut a host of brand new songs, alongside Sack classics like ‘Laughter Lines’ ‘What Did The Christians Ever Do For Us’ ‘Latitude’ and many more from their revered catalogue.
"I’ve enjoyed the pace of life over the last year or so as it opened up some new creative avenues for me personally but it’s also exciting to get back in the Sack," frontman Martin McCann said. "Receiving our new single, ‘What A Way To Live’ the night before going into the studio added a certain urgency, quite prevalent in what turned out be a quintessential Sack tune. A fine taster of what’s to come."
