Fender’s third album follows the critically acclaimed record Seventeen Going Under in 2021.
Sam Fender has unveiled details of his highly-anticipated third album People Watching, which lands on 21st February via Polydor Records.
The ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ singer produced the album alongside bandmates Dean Thompson and Joe Atkinson over two years. The trio laid the groundwork for People Watching in London with producer Markus Davis last year, before heading to Los Angeles to collaborate with The War on Drugs’ Adam Granduciel, one of Fender’s musical inspirations.
The album cover photograph was shot by lauded social documentary photographer Tish Murtha, who grew up in South Shields and documented marginalised communities and working-class life in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Fender’s highly relatable lyricism and infectious melodies have taken him to the top, headlining festivals and selling out stadiums around the world. Having sold-out his UK and IE arena tour in under an hour, the North Shields native looks to take his artistry even further.
