Following his stellar debut with Hypersonic Missiles last year, Sam Fender returns with his first release of the year, 'Hold Out'.
Sam Fender makes his 2020 debut with a new single, 'Hold Out'. The track was one of the first tracks the Brit ever wrote, stretching back to when he first started performing with his band.
“We nearly released 'Hold Out' as a single a while back," admitted Fender. "It used to be a staple in our live set when the band first got together, and I’ve always been really fond of it. It’s about going out on the lash back home which was really just a form of escape. This is going to be the last tune we put out there of the Hypersonic Missiles era.”
Although his management insist the track does not signal the start of a second album campaign, it acts as another fine statement of intent for Fender, who had already mapped out the skeletal frame of a sophomore effort before his stellar debut was released last year.
2020 commences similarly to 2019, with Sam preparing for the BRIT Awards on 18th Feb. He follows last year’s Critics’ Choice Award with a nomination this year for Best New Artist. With festival season approaching, Fender is rumoured to be booking up quickly. In the meantime, he is headlining across Europe and will support The Killers at Malahide Castle on 16th & 17th June 2020.
