There it is! During his stellar performance at Electric Picnic yesterday, Sam Fender announced that his next single will come out today. 'The Borders' may be his most personal song yet.

The track tells the story of two very close friends who later go seperate ways. The Borders is short for The Border Terrier, a pub in Sam Fender's hometown North Shields.

We got a little sneak-peak of the song yesterday, when the musician played 'The Borders' live at Electric Picnic: "Fans can look forward to a melancholic sounding track that later explodes into an energetic guitar solo, that the man plays himself of course." The song also includes a Saxophone solo.

'The Borders' is part of Sam Fender's debut album Hypersonic Missiles which will be out on September 13.
