Following on from the acclaim of her latest film Ladybird, Saoirse Ronan has been offered the opportunity to host an episode of Saturday Night Live on December 2.
The comedy sketch show has been on air for more than three decades.
Each week, it follows the same format of throwing an A list guest host into sketches with the likes of Will Ferrell, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Kristen Wiig.
Every show also offers two musical numbers from someone at, or aspiring to reach, the top of the charts.
It was revealed on twitter that the musical guest on December 2 will be U2, promoting their new Songs of Experience album.
Alec Baldwin's recent satirical impressions of President Donald Trump have gotten the show some of its best reviews of its decade spanning history.
