'Bright Blue Screens' is the new single from the promising singer's forthcoming debut album Breathe, produced by Christian Best for the label Blue Monkey PR.
The single creates a lush, captivating soundscape along with powerful lyrics referencing nature and the concept of reality. Ryan touches on the dark side of social media and phone addiction in today's society, promoting unrealistic expectations:
The media compares us to each other
Illusion of Blue Screens moving further
Superficial world, technological dream
Can’t you see it’s not real it’s all a Dream
'Brigh Blue Screens' reflects "the beautiful, the powerful and the unreachable; unveiling the artifice and leaving the darkness and loneliness lurking underneath...," says the press release, adding that the single "contrasts what is real against the distorted perfection displayed within the world of blue screens."
It is set to be released on August 12 with a video, but you can already give it a listen on Spotify, alongside Ryan's other songs. Her unique folk voice is a great addition to the Irish music scene and it is safe to say that the Kildare-born singer, now based in Cork city, was quick to earn her stripes.
