The second gig in the Windmill Live series, curated by Hot Press, just got even better, with the addition of one of Ireland's most exciting emerging acts, in the shape of Saarloos...
Dublin band Saarloos are to join Gavin James at Hot Press's Windmill Live series on May 30 at the Town Hall, One Windmill Lane, in the Windmill Quarter. The Windmill Live series is curated by Hot Press.
Saarloos are a rising Irish pop/rock trio who have amassed a hugely impressive 5 million Spotify streams for their releases to date, as well as appearing on "New Music Friday" playlists in the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Saarloos have supported Gavin James in the past, having travelled with him on the European leg of his tour earlier this year. They returned to Ireland to do two sold out shows in The Grand Social, Dublin. Saarloos were also recently named on Hot Press's Hot for 2019 list.
Presented by Hot Press, The Windmill Live series is a sequence of intimate, one-off free gigs in celebration of the musical legacy of Windmill Lane, where Windmill Lane Studios was originally located.
Numerous major albums were recorded in the original Windmill Lane studios, including U2's first three albums – which were recorded there in their entirety – as well as records by artists of the global stature of Kate Bush, Van Morrison, Clannad and Def Leppard. The studios were sold and subsequently moved to Ringsend Road, where stars like Kylie Minogue, The Rolling Stones and The Spice Girls – as well as Gavin James himself – have recorded.

This is the second show in the series, which was launched in February by Hothouse Flowers, with special guest Moya Brennan of Clannad, and rising star Erica Cody in support.
