The Irish rapper explores the impact humans have on the planet on his thought-provoking new single.
Ahead of his upcoming album, Saul Blake has shared a reflective new single, 'Socialites'.
"I wrote this song when I spent a year living without electricity or running water in the mountains of south Galway," Saul reveals. "During this period of my life I had time to reflect and find myself among the trees and song birds of the area, taking in the world around me. I began to think of modern life, our reliance on social media and its drawbacks.
"I never felt so connected to the planet as I did at this time," he continues, "which inspired me to writer 'Socialites'–reflecting on the hustle and bustle of city life and the disconnection people have from each other and the earth."
With an alternative approach to hip-hop that pays homage to the likes of J.Cole and Immortal Technique, the release spells the beginning of a fresh new sound in the Irish scene.
