One hundred pieces of original Irish art go under the hammer to raise funds to build a build a brand new school for the street and homeless children we work with in Varanasi, India.
Head down to Filmbase in Dublin's Temple Bar this Saturday (Oct 12) to help a very good cause and potentially pick up some incredible artwork donated by 100 of Ireland's finest artists.
SCOOP (Support Children Out Of Poverty) will be launching the very special No Reserve Art Auction at 7.30pm this Friday with all 100 artworks on display. The auction will then take place at 2pm SHARP the following day in association with Mealy's Auctioneers.
Household names such as Jonathan Knuttell, Colm MacAthlaoich, Shane Sutton, Felim Egan, Duda, Denise Nestor, Margo Banks, Francis Quinn, David McDermott, Dorje de Burgh, Mo Kelly, Paul McCloskey, Mick Minogue, Danleo, Kelly Hood, Padraig McCaul and so many more have given their time and talent in the hope of raising funds for SCOOP's next building project.
SCOOP recently bought two acres of land outside the city of Varanasi in India, where almost 60,000 children live on or beg off the streets. SCOOP and their partners living and working on the ground wish to build a new set of schools, homes, health centres, canteens, gardens and cricket pitches etc in order to give homeless children the chance to a normal life and education.

SCOOP Founder Andrew Sweeney says: "We all just want to see great art exchanging hands again. Buyers need to get excited about buying art again and this is a great way to kick-start that. We have some of the finest works you are going to see this year".
"We need the support of the Irish public to see this project through. They have helped us establish a charity in the Recession and have helped us build 2 schools for over 1000 children. This is simply the next level for us in so many ways".
